Partnership-building Activity

A networking event aiming to enhance activities related to European Youth Capitals concept in general and to develop partnerships for the next two years (2014 and 2015). Connections with the European Capitals of Culture concept will be also tackled.
What (in a „nutshell”)
A networking event aiming to enhance activities related to European Youth Capitals concept in general and to develop partnerships for the next two years (2014 and 2015). Connections with the European Capitals of Culture concept will be also tackled.
The event is included in the European Youth Week.
Who?
50 participants representing:
– youth organizations, municipalities and public bodies interested to get involved in regional and trans-national partnership projects related to the European Youth Capitals and/or European Capitals of Culture.
– the structures managing European Youth Capitals and/or European Capitals of Culture (in the past, present or in the future years).
Municipalities
Why?
To identify the common interest areas related to the European Youth and Cultural Capitals and to put in place cooperation mechanisms and international projects to address such areas.
How?
Trough interactive activities and participative methods (such as world cafe, open space technology, fish bowl or socio-educative animation).
The program will be split in three distinct phases supporting each other:
– Thinking Europe – Presenting the idea for European Youth Capital and the plans for 2015 in Cluj Napoca (eventually for 2014 in Thessaloniki), how it can be connected with European Cultural Capitals, identifying the common interest areas and topics to be addressed and understanding the concepts behind them (1 day – 29th of May)
– Growing Europe – Working on the concrete ideas emerging Thinking Europe phase and developing common networking activities and projects in partnerships (1.5 days – from 30th until the afternoon of 31st of May)
– Living Europe – Putting some selected ideas in practice through an activity based on the interaction with the local community in Cluj Napoca (1.5 days – the afternoon of 31st of May until the evening of 1st of June)
While the event will be included in the European Youth Week, several topics such as European citizenship in practice or how to stimulate the participation of the young people to the European elections in 2014 will be discussed.
